I am Karan from Olympia, WA.
Almost every other name used here is a pseodonympseudonimpseudonymn alias.
The rest of it is true - mostly - and all of it is my own.
Don't even think about taking any of it, unless of course, you want to pay me.

Duff me
My cooking school boss is going to some cooking convention and while there gets to work with Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes in some sort of demonstration. When she told me that today, I stopped hearing anything else that was coming out of her mouth because, if you must know, I have a massive crush on that jolly bald man.
Duff, you see (and I can call him Duff rather than Duff Goldman because we are one in the cosmic universe) runs a bakery in Baltimore called Charm City Cakes where he and his charming staff whip up very cool confections and I assume get big bucks for the effort. There is nothing I find sexier in a fantasy man than a hearty laugh, creativity and whatever else that thing is that I can’t remember right now. Give me a break, I’m still suffering from that leper thing.
I know nothing about him, not that the details are important...gay or married, age or even particular wants and desires on his part. None of that matters because Duff, here I am in Olympia, WA just waiting for your call.
I sure hope she brings me back a Duff signed cupcake or something.
I have always, and I mean since I first heard of the place and realized that there were people who lived and worked there, I have always wanted to go to Antarctica. The solitude, the wilderness, the science, the smarts there all attracted me in a big way. I know that’s a strange thing for a six year old to dream of, but dream I did. As I grew up, the dream became increasingly pipeish but never-the-less, I allowed myself to think about it now and then, thinking about what sort of job I could do there that would allow me to do my part.
Well, nothing ever came to mind or came to be, so I have indulged myself by living vicariously through others and thanks to the great world wide web, I have found that several who are living my dream keep web logs. Right now, at this exact moment in time, a local middle school teacher named Jana Dean is way way way down under. Her web log is pretty much a giant lesson plan and actually very interesting: Jana Dean’s Classroom. Pay particular attention to her “My Dear Students, Thank You for Your Questions” entries where she -well- responds to her students’ questions.
Maybe I can serve a tour as camp cook....but then....maybe not....I do want to survive…
After hearing about Trader Joe’s and the fact that my niece just started working there, I just want to visit one of their stores to see what it’s all about. While I’m there, I’m going to buy a bottle of their oh so famous cheapo wine, Two Buck Chuck.
I know, a small goal but certainly one attainable.
